Ohio Wrongful Death Attorney
We represented the executor of the estate of a forty-five year old woman who died after suffering a heart attack. At the referral of the family's lawyer, and with the approval of the local probate court, the executor hired Robert W. Kerpsack Co., L.P.A. After consulting with medical experts, we filed a wrongful death lawsuit alleging medical malpractice on behalf of the deceased woman's husband, children, mother, and siblings. In the lawsuit, we alleged damages for the woman's funeral and burial expenses, the profound mental anguish suffered by the woman's family, and the family's losses of financial support and household services. We also alleged damages for the woman's conscious pain and suffering prior to her death. The defendants and their insurance companies contested liability. More than four years after the woman's death, a jury trial was commenced. During the trial, we presented the testimony of nine physicians and eight lay witnesses on the issues of liability and damages. The parties eventually resolved their disputes, and the lawsuit was dismissed. There is no loss greater than the loss of a loved one, and when that loss is the result of someone else's negligence or abuse, that loss is all the more painful. While no award will ever begin to compensate a family who has lost a loved one, it is important that the families of those who have lost their lives and their livelihoods get the monetary compensation they need to pay for medical and burial costs, to ensure their financial well-being, and to compensate them for their own pain and suffering, as well as that of their lost family member. We understand that it can be difficult to seek legal help at such a profound time of loss, but it is important that you seek legal advice as soon as possible if you've lost a loved one as a result of someone else's behaviors. We also understand that these cases can seem difficult, even overwhelming, to a family who has suffered a recent loss.We have experience representing grieving families, and we recognize that this is a very difficult time. As such, we promise that we will do everything we can to make the process as easy and as painless as we possibly can, and that we will fight hard on your behalf to get your family the compensation they need and deserve, now and in the future. Call us today to schedule your free, personal consultation with our caring, skilled legal staff. We are here to help you. |
