ReNu Recall Attorney
In 2006, Bausch & Lomb's popular contact lens cleaning solution, ReNu with Moisture Lock, was linked to a serious outbreak of fungal infections. Fungal infections
Following initial reports that ReNu with Moisture Lock was linked with these rare bacterial infections, Bausch & Lomb suspended shipments of the product to Singapore and Hong Kong, where early reports had shown a correlation. However, the company failed to report 35 cases of the infection to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as required by federal law, and continued to deliver and sell the product in the United States. Since the initial outbreak of fusarium keratitis in the US, evidence has shown that Bausch & Lomb was aware of possible links to its ReNu product long before they had the product removed from store shelves. In fact, the manufacturer was aware of the problem with ReNu for approximately a month, but failed to address it or to inform US authorities until an opthalmologist in New Jersey alerted authorities to three patients he had treated for the rare infection. Between the time Bausch & Lomb became aware of the problem and the time they finally stopped selling the product, many consumers were seriously injured. Legal help |
